From the IDrive Tray there is a right click selection for "Check For Latest Version". It doesn't work. Twice now since installing the software a couple of months ago, I've been notified by SUMo (software that checks for new versions) that a new version is available but when I select IDrive's version checker ... says latest version installed. Normally I would expect it to find the new version and start a download. If I directly go to the IDrive site and check the download available - yes there is a new version. So I was wondering if anyone else has noted the same here - that the check for latest version function - in fact does nothing?

Yep, I agree that the iDrive upload speed is terrible. I have a relatively slow upload connection at home (~1.8 mb/s) and my QNAP backup has been running since Sept 8th for about 8 hours per night. It was about 70% done as of last week. I took the QNAP to my office since we are closed for Christmas week where we consistently see 22 mb/s upload speeds. After a week at the office, running 24/7, the backup job is 76% complete. There has been no difference in the effective upload speed after changing locations. I switched to Amazon Drive yesterday and started the same upload job. It is now 50% complete in just 24 hours. WOW! what a difference. iDrive does limit upload speeds and is terribly slow. I have the 5TB plan (former Crashplan user) and I doubt that I could ever use all of the space due to upload speed limitations. By the way, Amazon Drive does not include photos in the space calculation so I can store my entire photo collection > 1 TB using a 100 GB account. Heck, I know this might change, but I don't mind paying if it works. You do lose file versioning by switching from iDrive. I might use iDrive for small files and Amazon for photos and videos.

From own experiments and all the forum posts I can now certainly conclude, that IDrive caps the transfer rates. There are now three options:

1. You uncap the transfer speeds (that's what I and probably everyone else would prefer)
2. You clearly state somewhere, that You cap the speeds at 100 kB/s (at least one would know, what one buys)
3. You refund the money due to obviously giving false promises ("IDrive does not cap the transfer speed")

I demand a statement about this here in the forum so that everyone can read it, because handing people over to the support hasn't brought any light into the darkness.

You are logged in to your account from the website and not from the application. Please send us the logs from the application running on the machine that is listed as offline. Please login to your account from the application and click on your account username on the top right corner of the screen. Please use the "send error report" option to send us the report. Logs will be attached to the report sent.

You should be able to create disk image of drive C:/ as well. Please raise a support request by forwarding your observations to support at idrive dot com

I have the same problem using the Synology Idrive client (Version 2.03.34). Thank god I still have my Crashplan subscription on the side (getting 17 Mbps on that).

I don't think a cap on the bandwidth is completely unacceptable - but it's got to be way higher than 100 kbps !!

I have the *same* job running with Idrive and Crashplan right now - Idrive requires 30 Days to complete - Crashplan requires 2.4 days....

Hi, exactly the same happened to me. While trying out i could use nearly full of my 38MBps upload speed for backing up, but short after purchasing the connections get cut at about 100 kByte/s.
I got many tickets, but nothing really happened or got solved..

I'm new to IDrive. It looks like it doesn't auto-update either? It will only look for the latest version (maybe) and then you have to update it yourself? Disappointing. Especially since I maintain backup software for multiple friends and family. Lots more work for me now. :-(

I'm having the same problem. When I try to login from app it tells me username/password is incorrect, yet I can go to idrive.com online and login with same user/password just fine.
Also, just like DaveKD I do not see option to "send error report". Please help.
In researching this problem I've seen there are several people that have/had this problem.
Also, while I'm online at idrive.com it's telling me that my computer is offline. How can I be connected to the internet and offline at the same time?

Okay... I should obviously have done more research before buying this service...
I read a test where this service got a very good score, I have no idea how that can be!
I've left the computer running the backup service for 2.5hrs now, and it has completed a "whopping" 5GB... My connection is very fast, 300/300 fiber. Checked against speedtest to see if there were any issues, but connection is working flawlessly. I can't believe I didn't see this thread before buying this... With speed this slow is virtually useless, come on guys you have to get this fixed asap or most people will drop this service. Word will spread, it will become very difficult for you to get any new customers if this keeps up.

Cancelled my account because I don't believe this will get better. Since I'm in the 15 days period I should receive a full refund.
Let's see if this works...

Hi, there. I am also plagued by this notification and can't even untick the box in settings called "notify as failure if total files failed for backup is more than 5 % of total files backed up". I get exactly the same notification every single scheduled backup, which is daily at 8pm. It is very annoying and interrupts me every time. I will send an error report, too, but please just jump into the code already...

I'm an iDrive customer, and I chose your company because of your stated compatibility with Synology. Model DS118 has no compatible installer with iDrive. You have a number of installers listed, but not the 118 and the universal installer doesn't work. How long before the 118 is supported? Thank you.
