I have the exact same issue with the lastest version of IDrive:

I deleted everything I had on Idrive to start fresh again still not working.

I am glad to report that the files from my IDrive Express have now been uploaded (But no explanation as to why it took so long!)

You're absolutely correct, and as someone new to the forums it's incredibly frustrating. Any time I see a post and think, "oh, that might have the answer I'm looking for", I open the thread and it's nothing more than someone saying, "please contact support".

This is not how forums work. In fact, yours *don't* work, they just frustrate people looking for answers. Not having forums at all would be better for your company. Seriously.

Thanks for the valuable feedback. Some of the reported cases will be system specific and it is essential for us to analyze the logs to understand the issue and provide the resolution. Hence we request users to contact us directly for further investigations. If required, we will access the users machine remotely to troubleshoot the reported issue.

I have the same issue (using Win7), started right after the last update of IDrive. IDriveService is not listed on SCM, so I can't start it.
Also, "Next Scheduled Event" refers to 3 days ago, probably the date of the SW update...

I cannot run any backup now, so my data is not protected!
Please help ASAP.

The IDrive "Archive Cleanup" does not even allow full screen videos to play. It stays on top of anything and everything. It also, is "always on top" for videos playing full screen in the VLC media player. Videos that are not streaming, but are file based on the computer.

There is no way to minimize it. I have tried minimizing the IDrive desktop program, but it does not respond. There is not a minimize button on the "Archive Cleanup" dialogue box, or any such thing in the right click menu of the IDrive icon in the notification area.

Since I have increased my backup to almost 200 GB, it takes much longer to run the "Archive Cleanup", and it is constantly in the way of whatever is being worked on. And like I said, it is impossible to watch videos. It really wants the computer all to itself.

Another, like cherry on top, bad effect with it, is that it is very difficult to move it out of the way. Unlike other desktop programs or dialogue boxes, just clicking and holding at the top of the window will move most things quite easily, but with the "Archive Cleanup", it is try, try and try again, then getting some kind of "delayed reaction" effect; like the pointer has moved, and a "second" or two later the "Archive Cleanup" box arrives.

If there is a way to prevent this problem, I would really like to know. I did a quick Internet search for a software product that could keep "Archive Cleanup" from being "always on top", but I did not find anything.

In order to investigate this issue further, please login to your account from the application and click on your account username on the top right corner of the screen. Please use the "send error report" option to send us the report. Logs will be attached to the report sent.

It seems as though the Android app completely skips over certain files and file types. I have an internal /CallRecordings/ directory that has some .amr files in it, and when I backup 'Other Files' they get completely ignored. As a test I renamed one of the .amr files to .txt and it started to backup just fine.

When I navigate to the /CallRecordings/ directory through IDrive I can't even see the files, so the backup button is greyed out.

I also use a program called FolderSync that saves it's settings backup to /Android/data/dk.tacit.android.foldersync/files/backup/, however it seems as though the /Android/data/ folder gets completely ignored by IDrive. There are 3 folders in /Android/, data, media, and obb, but only media and obb get backed up.

As a test I tried changing where FolderSync saves its settings backup to the /Download/ folder, however it *still* didn't backup the FolderSync settings backup files, even though it does backup other files in the /Download/ folder.

It's pretty hard to trust backup software that just completely disregards certain files and file types.

Hello

any change that I can get IDrive 2.03.17 get running on Synology DSM 6 Beta

In the installation instruction it says that Web Station must be activated... however in DSM 6 Web Station functionality has been moved/separated to other packages...

Currently IDrive do not backup all the files from an sdcard as there can be lot of temporary files. Our development team has considered your requirement and may include backing up of all possible file types.

That may explain why the .amr files aren't being backed up, but it doesn't explain why the FolderSync settings backups aren't being backed up. The extension on the files is .db, and I saw other .db files that backed up properly, so I'm not sure why these ones wouldn't. The files that get backed up just seen random and arbitrary sometimes.

Regarding the .amr files though, even if you just added a section to the Android app where the user could specify custom file types/extensions to be backed up, that would at least somewhat solve this problem.

I am having the identical issue with our Windows 2012 server backup- The program runs from the administrator's account but I get "There is no permission to backup the folder" errors in the log for user's folders. I'm a bit disappointed to see threads like this go for many months without posting a resolution...

@JustinH Please send out an error report to our Tier-2 technical team using the IDrive application by clicking on Username on top right corner and select "Send Error Report". One of our Technician will get back to you with further troubleshooting steps via email. Let us know the ticket number that gets assigned to this issue.

You may install the web-station from the package-center which is listed under utilities. Please update the IDrive for synology package and check if it works.
