Regarding Moderator comment above ("You may change your IDrive account password by logging in at http://www.idrive.com"), it's not apparent to me where the PW change is located at that direction. Please provide more specific directions.

Next, where do I go to I get the backup to recognize the changed PW?

Any updates on this regarding the upload speed? After 20 hours of uploading, I am averaging just over 13 Mbps upload speed ... yet I have a 1 GIG upload speed! I don't expect to realize the full gig of upload speed, but I expect much higher than 13 Mbps versus 1,000 Mbps? What is going on with the software to make it so slow?

My PC is stalling out.
iDrive Service is using 95% of my cpu.
My PC froze for 10 seconds while composing this problem report.

I am transitioning from Crashplan to iDrive. Crashplan is in sleep mode right now.

I am running Win 10 x64, fast cpu, 16 GB Ram, SSD drive.
I downloaded the latest iDrive app today, installed it and rebooted PC.

What iDrive scheduling options should I choose for best performance?
I never had this problem with Crashplan which seemed to backup changed files automatically when they were closed.

Hi

I am doing my initial back-up. My internet isn't the fastest so I expected it to take a while. However, when I have the back up running its using all of my internet bandwidth - on speed test my results when its running are < 1Mbps, versus 15Mpbs when its not.

I have tried changing the Bandwidth throttle and using auto pause but it doesn't seem to have any impact.

I've submitted an error report but keen to understand if I am missing something/this is a common complaint.

This thread is a year old. I have the exact same problem with 2/2 fresh pc installations just backing up D. How can this still be a bug after as year? It's pretty fundamental for a backing up service to actually back up... (Did send an email just now)

I think the best thing would be to do a restore to another location and compare the restored version against your original, both in terms of size and file by file...is it all there.

I think on the mac certain kinds of files are always ignored...and perhaps that accounts for it, for example, on the mac you don't need to backup certain known system files, cache files, temp files, etc.. ...they are not really recoverable anyway.

Wish I had your problem... my iDrive only uses 3.43 mbps of the 200/200 mbps connection I have and many other people are seeing the EXACT same figure, which iDrive refuses to acknowledge.

As described above. My customers are set up with daily backups and sometimes there are no changed files to backup. IDrive then shows "Backup status" as "Failure" and the summary page shows "[Unable to continue the backup operation. Reason : There are no files to backup]"

Come on, that's a false alarm. When there is no changed files to backup, don't say the backup failed! I don't want panic calls from my customers when that happens.

I'm having the same problem. Completely uninstalled and then reinstalled V6.7.0.19 on Windows 10. Worked ok on a three test files add to a small folder. Checked online and the test files were there. Came back to the desktop to try another folder and got stuck in the Preparing Filelist. Here's the log from this attempt after I stopped the backup...

[Start Time: 9/18/2017 9:53:43 AM]
[End Time: 9/18/2017 10:06:21 AM]
[Files considered for backup: 61869]
[Files already present in your account: 0]
[Files backed up now: 0, Size: 0.00 B]
[Unable to continue the backup operation. Reason : Operation cancelled by the user.]

It should have had about 40 new files to add but the log doesn't even show the online condition. This has been happening a lot, and my last two weekly scheduled backups have just looped in this state for hours overnight.

Addendum: Closed the desktop app and reopened and tried the same backup. Now it stalls when trying to determine the files already online. Log...

In the settings tab, you may adjust the 'Notify as ‘Failure’ if the total files failed for backup is more than __% of the total files backed up' check box to receive an alert. You will receive an alert based the percentage configured.
