@JF the results of those speed test performed through IDrive software is in mbit, and surprise surprise.. by chance is the same cap speed that IDrive has set per single file (process idwutil_600.exe).
Stay claim they do not throttle the bandiwdth. Well, I strongly disagree and collecting the evidence to show this fraud to the press.

Is unbelievable that after two years it is still not solved. You simply don't listen to your customers. After unsuccessfully try Google Backup & Sync (still have many bugs), I have moved today to SOS Online Backup. It works perfectly, fast and deleted folders are correctly deleted in the cloud.
For god sake, I don't want to see all my deleted folders after months there empty. SOS Online Backup even let you configure after how many days files and folder are deleted from the cloud.
IDrive on "Archive Cleanup leaving folders behind"
@hm72747 Periodic Cleanup gives you more control by allowing you to set the frequency as well as the percentage of files to be considered. The frequency can be set to anything between 10 and 30 days; percentage to anything between 5% and 25%. I forwarded the request for referred enhancement again to our development team.
MamaBear2017 on "how to see which files failed to backup?"
I'm in the same situation. Only 2 files failed, every backup. Id like to know which 2, so perhaps I could find out if they even NEED to be backed up, or I can exclude them and eliminate the message.

Heim on "Bandwidth Test"
Same problems here. Their speed test always shows me precisely 10.0 Mbps down and 3.43 Mbps up, exactly the same numbers as a couple other posters in the thread. My actual Internet speed is 100 down and over 15 up. At 100% throttle (ie. no throttle) to backup my files, I am getting about 500-600 kB/s -- according to their progress bar, which at this point I am not inclined to trust blindly. That's 1/3 of my upload speed. Still is much better than when I had it throttled at 50%, because then I was getting about 40 kB/s. Maybe they didn't learn the same maths as I did, but 40 is NOT 50% of 500! Anyway... My backup has been running for almost 60 hours now at the 50% throttle speed (I just noticed just how slow the backup was), and only has 26 GB done. Hopefully it'll go a lot faster now that I changed the throttle to 100%... Yet, it should still be going 3x faster than it currently does. And their speed test is still completely useless, showing always precisely (and wrongly) 10.0/3.43 Mbps...

010101 on "Backups hanging"
I'm having the exact same problem using the Linux version 2.9 scripts. It randomly hangs on a file and after a long time finally quits with a "backup failed" message.
After at least 3 or 4 tries I've finally got about half of my drive backed up.

Please forward your observations to support@idrive.com and raise a ticket. We will have to review the logs to verify on which files the backup is failing. Our Tier 2 technical support team will review the logs and will assist you with the resolution.

darren__ on "VMWare ESXi Backup"
Hello,
I am attempting to backup an ESXi server with iDrive.
It fails with no files to backup.
Can someone confirm that IDrive supports the free ESXi? (i.e. VMWare Hypervisor)? v5.5.
Many thanks,
Darren
taliesin1077 on "IDrive eats my entire Internet connection"
The last few days, since I've installed IDrive, whenever IDrive is backing up, my Internet goes nonexistent. I have a ping -t to http://www.google.com and the ping just starts dropping massive numbers of packets, along with destination net unreachable errors. I could see speeds dropping when IDrive is backing up, but to have this amount of packet loss? I can immediately resolve the issue by stopping my backup. Instantly, ping replies return, with low latency.
I did Backup Express, so once the drive is back at your location and you import the data, my backups will drop in frequency and size, etc, but is this normal from your point of view? Does iDrive open a VPN tunnel connection to back up to your data center?
Your Computer Guy on "Bandwidth Test"
IDrive moderator, can you explain why iDrive process is not having any network activity when doing download and upload tests? I thought the purpose of the test was actually testing the speed? How is it done if there is no network communication during it? Btw, still the same pathetic 3.43Mbps.
Your Computer Guy on "Idrive slow restore, capped to 3 Mbit/s?"
Flyingcelt, same observation. What's funny, is that there is no network activity whatsoever during the so-called "bandwidth test". Whatever it's testing... it's not the network speed. Can be confirmed with looking at processes in the Task Manager.
MungDrool on "iDrive fails on scheduled backup"
ORIGINALLY ADDED TO FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS FORUM - I have two windows 10 machines that are scheduled to back up overnight. They are both failing with the same message: Scheduled backup has been skipped because Interactive backup is in progress. As far as I know there is no interactive backup running. How can I determine what interactive backup is running? This has been happening on one of the machines for over a week, though it seemed to work OK for the first few days. I just set up the second machine with iDrive, and it has gotten this error from the first time it tried to back up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Steelrat on "Infinite loop preparing file list"
I am facing the same problem. If anything interrupts the backup and I re-start it, it winds up in the "preparing file list" stage for forever. Multiple computers do the same thing. Any thoughts on why this is occurring?
IDrive on "VMWare ESXi Backup"
Currently IDrive does not support free ESXi.
IDrive on "IDrive eats my entire Internet connection"
IDrive will not open a VPN tunnel connection to backup your data. Also your internet connection will be stable when a backup is initiated. Hence, in order to investigate this issue, please login to your account from the application and click on your account username on the top right corner of the screen. Please use the "send error report" option to send us the report. Logs will be attached to the report sent.
Our Tier 2 technical support team will analyze the logs and will contact you with an update.
