I've been backing up with idrive for a year or more and it works smoothly. Recently it asked me to change my password which I did. However I forgot to change it on the desktop app so the next day's backup failed. I went in and changed it on the app and started a backup. The backup update usually takes about an hour to catch everything up. But this one today has run all night and is going to hit 12 hours. Any reason it would start a new backup from scratch because of the failure? It's tying up my resources and I can't work.

From looking at header.pl within the iDrive install files it is noted that the email alert requests are sent to URL ‘https://webdav.ibackup.com/cgi-bin/Notify_email_ibl' to be generated and sent out from your side. Can you see the requests hit this URL in the first instance?

I also upgraded my DS216+ to DSM 6.0.2-8451. Login works as before (meaning that I can only log in with the admin account, my own account gets the neverending spinner). I ran into another issue though, iDrive (Version 2.03.21) doesn't see the file structure, only this empty directory:

I'm trying to set up using a Wi-Fi connection, but I have my SSID name broadcast turned off. I contacted tech support and was told that there was no way to enter the name and password manually, and not only would I have to turn name broadcast on, but that I would have to leave it on. Is there a way around this or will I have to use a patch cable and a port on my router?

Data will be considered for full backup only if there are any new files to backup or if there are any changes in the file path or file name. Change in account password should not affect the backup performance. Please verify if you are using the latest version of the IDrive application. We recommend you to verify logs and check if the data is is considered for full backup or incremental backup. Please forward your observations and logs using "send error report" option. Our Tier 2 technical support team will review the logs and contact you with an update.

Your Question: I'm trying to connect my IDrive to my wireless network, but when I access the unit to configure it through my laptop browser, the SSID does not appear (I have turned off name broadcasting). There does not appear to be a way to enter the SSID manually. Is that possible, or will I have to turn on name broadcast, and then will I have to leave it on? Also, besides my laptop I have 3 pcs that use patch cables connected to the router. Will I be able to back them up with the wireless connection to the IDrive?

Kevin at TavernTrak on "[false,"Failed to create Directory \/var\/services\/web\/idriveIt\/.cache: "]"
Just installed iDrive/Synology v2.03.22 on a DS214play, DSM v6.0.2-8451.
First login screen (logging into DSM) succeeds. But instead of allowing me to log into my iDrive account, I get this error:
[false,"Failed to create Directory \/var\/services\/web\/idriveIt\/.cache: "]
I had an older version installed before, but all I was seeing was the "n" drive, so I uninstalled the older package and now this.
Grrrrrrrr...
ADDITIONAL INFO: By the way, I did install the package under the "admin" account and I am logging in as the "admin" account.

That's just pretty unreasonable that you make people READ INSTRUCTIONS! :-)
Doh! I'm an idiot. Followed the instructions, worked like a charm.
Apologies and thanks!
