IDrive on "iDrive Sync only downloads"

Please let us know your account username or your registered email address. We request you to send across the application logs to our tier-2 team who can look into the issue you are facing. The error report can be sent by using the "Send Error Report" option from the IDrive application by clicking on Username on top right corner of the IDrive application.

Our tier-2 team would review the application logs and respond with the troubleshooting steps.

It's standard operating procedure for this company to have service outages with no notification whatsoever. One of the reasons I stopped using the service. All you get on here is canned replies.

Here was my complaint - I see it hasn't stopped.

You do not have to use any special tools to backup .pst files , you can select the .pst files from the IDrive application to backup your outlook data.

I wished I would have read this blog before I decided to get involved with iDrive. My experience with this company has been anything but positive. I had no idea that iDrive would be backing up multiple backups from my time machine and thought it would only back up the hard drive on my computer. When I phoned iDrive support they identified what had happened and at first said I needed to make adjustments to correct the issue. I asked if they could assist and after talking they said they would. Then I asked why I was charged an additional $160 after only once month of service. They said it was because iDrive was backing up my Time Machine back ups (the issue they just helped me to understand). The support agent said she would see what she could do. I got an email a short time later saying that they would offer a 75% refund if I called them. The billing department representative was arrogant and got me so frustrated I told him I would accept the 75% but wanted to cancel my account because it was obviously over my head. He said..."Well since you are cancelling your account, the refund will not be made he added...you signed the agreement" and that comment got me angry. I would not recommend this company to anyone and in fact I will recommend against it. They make it seem so easy but when it comes down to it...It is not.

GB used in upper right of user interface, e.g., 132.42 GB of 1000.00 GB used is different than the sum of the Files selected for Backup (the BackupSet) which shows 157.41 GB

It would seem that these two numbers should be exactly the same. Instead they differ by a lot with the "Files selected..." about 25 GB larger.

I would like to know what is the cause of this difference? I can come up with many theories. Someone in iDrive-land must know.

It seems that the incrememental feature of iDrive requires all application programs, e.g., Outlook, to be closed. I alwaays get an error when iDrive tries to backup my main pst.

Does iDrive not work on files that are in use?

Hi there, did anyone solve the issue regarding multiple backup set? i cannot believe we cannot set a second one, it's a great and bad issue for this product. It works fine but it's a base feature to do that.
i can see "all my managed scheduled jobs" on the proper window but i cannot see more than ONE set. what's the reason?

I was having this problem of IDrive service not starting. I solved it by opening the properties in Services, Clicking on the Logon tab, and changing the Logon from the local system account to an administrator account on the PC. IDrive seems to start okay now.

"View and manage all scheduled job" will allow users to manage schedules associated with server backups along with the default backup set. Currently we can have only one default backup set for backups of files and folder. We have forwarded this to our development team as an enhancement request.

Hi, I have opened a ticket (ID00804504) but this topic may be useful for other users.

We are having some problems with the command line utility:

1- First upload process goes ok.
2- Second and next upload process only check the existance in idrive servers for the first 1000 files (no more no less), and it stops without any error code if it is not necessary to upload nor update any of them.
3- First we thought it was a problem from our application that uses idevutils, but It happens also calling the utility from CMD console.
4- We have tried the last idevsutil from the idrive web and it keeps happening.
5- It happens when we build the file list (file-list file with thousands of lines) and when we let idevsutil manage it (file-list file with one file path to directory).
[EDIT] 6- We have tried different sets of files in different computers and found the same problem.

We have found this problem so far in Windows 2012 Server R2 Foundation and Windows 2012 Server R2 Essentials. Under other SOs idevsutil works fine (ex: Windows Server 2007 Standar SP2).

One ugly solution we are about to test is to always create the file-list file with our program, split it in other files with less than 1000 paths and call idevsutil with them.

Anyway, we had expected idevsutil to manage it by itself as it is a SEVERE bug that it ends an uncompleted copy without any error code.

Any help would be very useful as we have found this problem when we are about to deploy our application to end-users.

I was using the program fine until about a week ago. Now it won't let me connect through the windows app. I have chatted and emailed many times and I get no satisfaction from the idrive customer service. It's not the firewall, since I turned it off and I still couldn't log in. Is there a way for me to fix this? I need to restore files and I can't.

I am having the same issue and I'm disgusted with the IDrive customer service. I chatted several times and the rep took over remotely and I still can't connect. It worked fine until about a week ago. I emailed and got no response. I am very ready to try another company, but I need to restore files to a new computer first. Any suggestions?
