Sunflower on "Updated File Not Backed Up"

I have the same problem. I have been trying to figure this out for awhile, and I think it relates to the Verify option that's on the Setup tab. Try manually running the Verify Now, and I think the back up will work.

Reading several threads, I love how the standard reply is ' send an error report ' and then you read that the issue was never resolved... I will give iDrive a year to improve (they can I am sure, if they put some real brains and customer oriented thinking behind their offer) or I am gone...

I have 108 users worldwide using iDrive. When looking at the accounts from the Admin Dashboard all of my computers show "Failure" and "Offline". I have tested upgrading the users iDrive software, I still get the same issue. So it does not seem to be a version issue.

The users local iDrive does not show a problem. It is only the Admin Dashboard console. I spoke to support on chat which was not helpful.

In order to investigate this issue further, please login to your account from the application and click on your account username on the top right corner of the screen. Please use the "send error report" option to send us the report. Logs will be attached to the report sent.

After some digging... many of my computers are still showing "offline" when I know for a fact they are "online". I cannot connect to then from the Dashboard. AHHHHH!!!!

OK. just for anyone else that might stumble across this thread.

I get that error, but I do not have those folders even. It is trying to back up a non-existent location. I don't have

I don't even have C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Music on my Windows 10 laptop. I do have C:\Users\USERNAME\Music

Either add the false location to the exclude list or remove it from the back up set. It might not look like it is in there, but if you go into the change settings dialog, expand documents folder, you will see it listed there even though it is not on your hard drive. Uncheck it to stop idrive from trying to back it up.

I am testing IDrive with MS SQL Server 2014.
I have backed up a couple of databases but when trying to restore I get errors.
"The tail of the log for the database "cms_demo" has not been backed up" The error says to use "BACKUP LOG WITH NORECOVERY to backup the log if it contains work you do not want to lose."
I see in SQL Management the backed up database is set to truncate, not be left in a restoring state.

I am looking for best practices, and wondering what others are doing.
Does IDrive backup the full database and then keep log backups backed up periodically?
The sql backups in IDrive show *.dmp, *linc, and Sqldb.ini- does *dmp include the logs?

I just discovered that folders and files that contain foreign language characters in their name are not being backed up. This is a major issue, especially knowing that the backup application never reported any omitted files or folders.

This is astounding! I just saw about a half dozen posts saying pretty much the same thing... but iDrive support always replies with the `Please get in touch with us on live chat for further analysis and investigation: https://www.idrive.com/support´ and yet the problem never goes away (just look at past posts...).

Yes, I noticed the same thing. It seems to be related to the Verify option, which renders Continuous Data Protection virtually useless. I ran the Verify Now, and sometime later, the file in question got backed up.

IDrive moderator, I sent yet another error report in (this will be my 3rd or 4th- I've lost count)

It took a month and a half, but I think the issue is finally resolved for me. The first tier people finally escalated the problem to the "Developers" who fixed it after 3 attempts. The Developers only will work with you (remote onto your computer) during the night, so I lost a lot of sleep, too! Now, with the 15 minute box checked, anytime I make a change to a file, it gets backed up within 15 minutes automatically. It was an issue with my account, as all the computers I was backing up had the same problem, and now they all work. I read about this somewhere else on the blog, too.

In the settings tab, you may adjust the 'Notify as ‘Failure’ if the total files failed for backup is more than __% of the total files backed up' check box to receive an alert.

@Bane We require more information about the issue that you are reporting. Let us know the language that you are referring to and also let us know if there are any special characters in the file name.

You can also raise a ticket by writing to us at support@idrive.com. Our Tier 2 technical support team will review the issue and will contact you with an update.

Please share the ticket number that gets generated in this Forum so that we can follow this ticket and post an update about the reported observation after analysis

Hi,

When I try to remove a computer from the online dashboard using the (-) sign, it hides it but the next time I load the dashboard it is there again.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Encryption System

IDrive supports 256-bit AES data encryption before transmission from your computer using either (i) a default key or (ii) an optional user defined private key created by you. Based on your privacy and security needs, you need to make an appropriate encryption key choice. This encryption process encrypts the data contained within the file and not the file-name itself. For web and mobile based data transfers, data is sent over an encrypted channel with server side AES 256-bit encryption.

If you choose the default encryption option, the system chooses a key for encrypting your data. While your data is still encrypted, IDrive personnel may still be able to decrypt your data using your Registration Information if such a situation should ever arise.

What you are doing wrong is attempting to use the Dashboard. Stick to Classic View. There, hover over the computer name, select Delete from the dropdown list at the right end of that row.

Is there a file size limit ?
I am a new customer and have begun my first backup last week, but it is stuck for several days on my home videos folder which has some very large files.
