onthelam on "restore now - preparing file list - log says permission denied"

Just reinstalled windows 10 and trying to use the 'restore now' function. iDrive has been running for 12 hours and it still says preparing file list. The log shows permission denied next to all items. I am using eset security if that matters, and the total file size is about 600GB

Hello,
I have purchased a 1 year suscription with 1000Gb storage.

Im an administrator of a few servers in Europe. I have just installed idrive to sync two windows 2008 servers. One of them in the datacenter Interxion-Madrid-Spain and the other one in the datacenter of OVH-Roubaix-France.

The two servers have 1Gbps link spped. And in the two servers the "sync speed" is of no more than 0.6% of 1Gbps, that is, 6Mbps inside a datacenter.

With this sync speed its hard to work.

I dont need to send the logs. That is your sync speed (or your speed in Europe). They are two different windows200server inside two different datacenters. And of course, the link speed can reach higher values.

Sure, after this year, Im moving back to my old sync service.

Hi,

I've just signed up for a 2.5TB iDrive account and have started a Hyper-V backup. I looked at the upload speeds and it has been running at around 500kb/s. The site has a 80mb down and 20mb upload speed. l I thought this might just be a problem at one site so I tried another client at another site and i'm getting exactly the same.

Then came across this thread....

I am going to see how it gets on today if not I will be cancelling my contract and requesting a full refund.

My concern is having had iDrive a few years ago (and then it took at least a week for the initial backup on high speed cable access) now back with iDrive after a several month break in service, I have been backing up on "high speed" for two weeks and was at 84%. Then, my computer locked up, had some forced MS Windows updates needing to "reboot", and so I rebooted. Fearing the worst, discovered my backup started over at 0%. During the backup the last couple weeks (with computer on 24/7 and Size of backup at 499.46 GB) I had used the bandwidth throttle at times of the day and yet other devices and the programs I had to use on the computer were noticeably slower, some like "molasses". Advice: On your first backup - even with high speed cable (I'm with Charter at 60Mbps advertised with Spectrum) - either be sure you can keep the bandwidth throttle at 90% - 100% for (est 3 weeks in my experience) or you'll have to restart over and over again...or order their device they send you, that you back up to, and then return. Initial backups are brutal, compromising your ability to operate plus any lockups of Windows or windows updates will send you back to "ground zero" to start over. You can pause, but not close out and restart (reboot) your computer during initial backup without having to start over.

I've just signed up this week, and the upload speed seems extremely slow, I'm only uploading at 140kbs on average. There is nothing else uploading in fact speed test show I can get 9Mbs upload.

Is there anything I can try settings wise to improve the performance if not I'll have to cancel my account.

I am running PC Matic Super Shield and it is blocking idwutil_600.exe. The only work around that I have found is to pause super shield manually and run a backup.

Everyone on my home network was complaining that latency was up near 300ms — even to 1st hop ISP server. I was just about convinced it was poor infrastructure, but discovered it improved when I shut my computer down. Narrowed the problem to iDriveDaemon running. As soon as a kill the process latency drops to <20ms. Problem is it keeps relaunching itself, so it looks like I have no alternative other than uninstall. This is rendering iDrive unusable on my machine. Any suggestions?? Mac running Sierra.

I am trying to do a large restore. I am currently trying to restore 380GB of photos, and despite have ultra high speed internet (200mbs) it has currently taken 37 hours and I am not half way done. A speed test just now with ookla showed 215.02 Mbs, so my connection is fine.

iDrive is showing a fluctuation between 150 and 600kbs. Why is it so slow and how can I speed this up?

Sounds like you're saturating your upstream connection and leaving no capacity for others. Either slow down your uploads on your Mac or take a look to see if your router has a QoS quality of service setting that can take into account your upstream speed.

I've been getting this message for two weeks now. IDrive is showing that I *AM* logged in. Why aren't my backups working? I'm having no problems connecting to any other web sites or servers.

@mawihi Our application will consider data for full backup only if there are any changes in the file path. If the file path remains same after a system upgrade, subsequent backup will always be incremental. Also please ensure that there are no changes in your computer name. You can also move the backed up data within your account in such a way that file path in your account mirrors the file path on your local computer.

@martin123 Please ensure bandwidth throttle is set at 100% and monitor the backups. If the issue persist, please send out an error report to our Tier-2 technical team using the IDrive application by clicking on Username on top right corner and select "Send Error Report". One of our Technician will analyze the logs and get back to you via email.

Same issue here. DS214Play Nas. Solution above seems to work, it gets me a step beyond "host name not resolved" and now I see a grey screen with spinning icon.

The above might just as well be Chinese to me, absolutely no clue what I did with mcrypt and the likes, fix the Synology apps guys this should just work.

I had an slow upload speed of 300-600 KB/s max, so I contacted idrive by online chat.
During the chat the speed changed until 7 MB/s.

bandwidth unthrottling?

I think I will unsubscribe.
