I was recently billed nearly 10x my annual subscription price for data overages, to which I was never notified, and which were created through a glitchy scheduling feature combined with the inability to actually delete files from our account to get under the plan limit. After hours of back and forth I was only able to get a 50% refund for this fee, and no answer about the glitch that caused the overage in the first place. Within days, I'm seeing data piling up despite having all backups disabled, and am of course concerned about being erroneously charged yet again for this glitch. As I have yet to receive decent customer service and have alternatives that are better products & better service which don't cause issues that get blamed on the customer & billed for it, I just want to cancel my iDrive account at this point. Yet I cannot seem to do this.

Here is an example, the folder name was: Admin Notes on OneDrive but after it was backed up to IDrive, the name became: Admin%20Notes. This happened with all my folders that had spaces in the name of the folder.
Surely this a bug - RIGHT??
Also, the original create and modify dates were all changed, to the current date and time.
How new is the Office 365 backup - will these issues be fixed in the near future?
I must say, I was impressed with how quickly the backup completed 6.3GB completed transferring in 22 minutes.

Sine about 23MAR17 the iDrive backup on my Debian box has stopped working. I get notification emails and they state that another backup is in operation. It isn't.
Logging into the server and trying a manual backup I get this:
"Another Backup job is running. Inappropriate ioctl for device"
I have cancelled all jobs from the scheduler and set up the scripts again from the start but I still get this message. I have had to use the original scripts I downloaded when I first set it up as the latest ones will not send my password to iDrive.
Any suggestions? Anyone?

I posted a thread in here asking how to cancel my account. I was told to ask Live Chat, which I did. The first person was unable to give me an answer, and directed me to call (with wait times >1 hour, no way!!). Then I was transferred in Live Chat to the "billing department" who has been completely unresponsive. Why can I not even simply CANCEL my account? After all the hassle of trying to work out the issues with this company, they won't even help you cancel your account. There are way too many capable competitors to be dealing with this company.

The advice from support was quick and suggested deleting files called "pid.txt" from the relevant sub-folders within the profile folder. This worked for me and the backups now appear to be functioning (both manual and scheduled).

IDrive is a scam on "Cancelling Account"
IDrive is a scam. I have been trying to cancel for the last few weeks and am still getting notices of my renewal. It offers 75% off but it is impossible to tell what the renewal price is. Plus I find its ads pretty stupid, offensive and sexist. The credit card I gave them when I signed up was cancelled long ago and so the joke is on IDrive, but I was trying to be nice and give them an actual cancellation notice. As far as I can tell IDrive is a company run by scumbags.

After upgrading Mikrotik router firmware at multiple locations to 6.38.5, multiple idrive installs started failing (but not consistently, and sometimes took 1-2 weeks before it started failing on the backups).
That should be impossible if the idrive client traffic to the servers is an encrypted stream of traffic?
