pgr on "iDrive on Synology DS214Play keeps getting "server error 500""

Very annoying, Still happens after 1 year from rising the issue. I had to use mentioned workaround and I also had to change _Not Configured_ value in Web station -> General settings -> PHP to _PHP 5.6_. This happens only when installing from package center. I installed it manually from downloaded package few months ago and it worked without problems.

Doing a daily backup now... upload speed is 130KB/second!!! So bad....

Hahaha... I just read the first Moderators reply... what a bunch of crap, written for the novice computer user who will be overwhelmed with such terminology. Here is what I think is happening There is enough evidence in other thread from savey users that the upload speed is always going to be slow. Naturally, iDrive does not have a tool to limit upload speed, but because their suppliers also bill them by volume of data going in and out, they can have their supplier control the inflow of data into their account, if only via their total bandwidth contract limitations. So they can say they do not limited it directly, but their business model and supplier relation does limited it. The more users they get, the worse it will be...

@sdross as per the ticket, we see that the reported issue is resolved. Following steps were performed to resolve this issue:

1. Close IDrive client and close all services from IDrive from task manager.
2. Right click on the IDrive icon and select 'run as administrator'
3. Reschedule the backup task and save the changes.
4. Monitor the backup operations and check if the issue is resolved.

AMS on "iBackup cannot see connection to mapped drives"

Just because the logged in user can see the mapped drives doesn't mean iDrive can see the mapped drives. When doing backups iDrive is running as a service with a certain account, and the question is whether that account has the necessary privileges to see the mapped drives.

@JCat you are correct in both of your comments.
Lately my upload average went down to about 1mbit. I'm not sure if they lower the cap even further or if this is caused by the migration to Idrive of many of crashplan users as the service has closed. All I know is that at this speed the service is unusable.
Please everybody contact Idrive customer care and ask to speak to Hari who is one of the programming responsible and tell him about your 1mbit upload limit. The more we are to do this and the more are the chances to be heard.
I refuse to pay 70 bucks a year for such a useless crappy service.

Cap went down to 1mbit to me.
Everybody please contact customer support and ask to speak to Hari (idrive programmer) and tell him about crappy speed for upload and download. The more we are and the more are chances to be heard.

Whenever I want to paste my 200 characters private key, I can not use the right click of my mouse on the desktop (neither on the desktop site when browser on my mobile with chrome, opera or Firefox). On the desktop I must use keyboard combinations to paste my key. It's very annoying I can not get into the desktop site in my mobile ..

Well, just signed up and was researching why my resources were taking such a hit.
I see a fluctuating 3 to 6 instances of idwutil_600 in task manager and a max of 4-5 Mpbs combined on the Network. I'm on Cox 300/30 Mpbs service.

Cannot open IDrive program on my Mac. I am getting an internal error message and it is asking me to crash or continue the program. Either choice leads to an error message which asks if I want to send a report to apple.

I'm seeing the same problem. From what I understand, its a limitation of the free version of ESXi. Note you can backup the individual machines from the machines themselves.

@Brownie you probably are seeing multiple instances of idwutil_600.exe only because you're uploading multiple files (4-5 mbit is slow anyway though compared to your 30mbit potential upload speed) but if you were uploading only one big file, let's say a video for instance, IDrive software would use only 1 idwutil_600.exe process, and as a result your upload speed would be like the rest of us: about 1mbit, which is pathetic, useless, unusable service.
Contact IDrive support and ask to speak with Hari, whom as far as I know, is the person in charge for programming.

So after more than a year we still don't have an answer to a very simple question. Probably it will be never answered...
Thanks anyway :/

L.E. Probably I can answer myself to this question:
I logged in to the web interface without entering my private key. Then I checked out Web Logs menu. The filenames I found there are not encrypted so I presume that no filenames are encrypted on the server.

Same problem here. Have you found a solution?

I'm dismayed by the above posts. I'm in the same situation as many: coming from from Crashplan, found iDrive the mos similar in terms of usage, dashboard. As per some reviews, speed was ok. I was used to backup with Crashplan with speeds up to 6 Mbps or more; with iDrive is around 170Kbps!!!

As I understand from posts above, is there any chance that going through support, log errors etc. to improve speed, or we should give up? I tried, first response was VERY standard, was disappointed... I have 2TB to upload and don't want to spend 6 months to do so; and after be always "afraid" of too much backup... Thanks for answers

This is not an isolated incident with a particular customer.
Here is an example:

"No files to backup" IS NOT A FAILURE! Please change the wording to something more suitable.
