I am having the same issue in WIN7. All the msc.service boxes are greyed out. Has anyone found a fix?

Props to jrshaw!! After iDrive repeatedly failed to start after reboot of my newly upgraded Windows 10 system, I made the mods suggested by jrshaw and have had no problem since. This is not ideal, but I not prepared to waste more time trying to pin this down (restarting with & without mods, etc). It would be nice, though, to have a definitive response from the iDrive development team on this issue.

This thread is pretty disappointing. Like many others, my Idrive has stopped working since I updated to Windows 10. I sent a support ticket, and received a short response that just told me to reinstall Idrive, which I have done. I have no idea whether that has solved the problem or not, and don't have all morning to study it further.

So, I Googled to see if anyone else is having difficulties, and that brought me to this forum. Actually, that's how I realized that the problem has to do with Windows 10. I hadn't connected those dots, and the support team didn't think to ask about or explain the connection.

So, I find this forum in hopes of gaining some new insights -- and every single post from the Idrive moderator is a request for a username and/or ticket number -- rather than offering any substantive help. I guess the idea is to take the discussions off the forum, so they can keep the rest of us in the dark about what's going on with other users.

I am extremely unimpressed.

Like you, I am more than disappointed in iDrive's response to issues here on the forum.

I found that jrshaw's suggestion above has worked for me.. changing iDrive service startup to Automatic (Delayed)

You might try this to see if it works for you.

Yeah, I'm getting the exact same issue on my brand new Note 5 running Lollipop 5.1.1. I'm going to submit a support request as well or did you already figure it out Sx251r?

Not sure when it stopped but when you right click on the system tray icon, it not longer brings up the iDrive menu. You have to open iDrive in order to make certain changes.

On your Samsung Device, please follow the below given steps:

1. Open your phone dialer
2. Enter *#0011#
3. Select more (top right)
4. Select WiFi
5. Turn off WiFi power save mode(enabled by default)
6. Exit and check if the reported issue is resolved.

If the issue persist, please place a support request at https://www.idrive.com/support

Hi, yesterday I installed iDrive (2nd time in 4 years)... and the problems started, I have the same error Sparky had, scheduled backup never run!.
I hope in Christ you honor your refund policy.

This is not only related to Windows 10. I am still on Win 7 and have been having the problem for months. I too Googled it and got here. I have been on tech support at several levels including them taking over my computer. All they do is manually reset the service and then it works for a day or so. I am going to try the fix above but thank goodness for real people who can say what's really happening (that's you all).

Hi, I am having the same problem with my software not backing up my files as scheduled. I've called three times now and given IT support full access to my computer as well as sent the error codes for a fix with no luck. Last Friday tier 2 level support gave up and sent me an email stating the following:

"This issue has been escalated to our back-end technical team for further analysis and the team is working towards resolution. We will get back to you with an update on this at the earliest.

Regards,
IDrive Support"

I called again today to follow up as I haven't received any response from IDrive Support and was extremely disappointed in customer service. The person answering the phone was extremely short with me as I tried to explain the issue once again. I thought he was down right rude. He said they would call me when they figure out a resolution. I really wish I had spent my money elsewhere.

I am in Western Europe (GMT+1+daylight time, so GMT+2 at the moment) but all the modification times and dates are out by several whole hours. I suspect it is showing everything in PST. Also, the date format is mm/dd/yyyy, which is US-specific and is potentially confusing for the first 12 days of every month.

When dealing with backups and versions it is very important that there be no confusion about dates and versions....

Can these two things be made configurable in the user profile? Or even better, derived automatically through the browser? Or have I missed a setting somewhere?

We have released a new version of IDrive application with few minor enhancements. We request you to follow the steps mentioned below and check for the issue:

1. Please update the application to latest version (Ver 6.4.0.7 Released on 09/23/2015)
2. Bring up the "Run" dialog box by pressing key combination (Windows key+R)
3. Type in "services.msc" and click on OK.
4. Right click on IDriveService. Choose " Properties "
5. Change the startup type to "Automatic Delayed Start"[General Tab]

Does anyone know what is causing this? I've tried three times in a row and it fails every time after an hour or so. This is my first backup so it is a pretty significant file transfer, around 60Gb. It doesn't look like it ever transfers anything though... It still says "Files backed up now: 0, Size: 0 bytes"

Any help would be much appreciated!
